Hello friends,
After finishing my summer project at a Sleep research laboratory, I have begun to wonder about the incredible energy of sleep to rejuvenate ourselves. I haven't realized the power of sleep until before I worked under the guidance of Professor B.N.Mallick at JNU. Sleep has raised a lot of questions in myself. And I'm interested to work on sleep using zebrafish as a model system. Researchers have used cats and are using rats, monkey, drosophila and even ants as a model system. A very few use zebrafish for sleep study. Zebrafish is a diurnal organism and shares similar features of brain with humans. If anybody of you have the interest in studying sleep, you're welcome for discussion.
